Diane from Tennessee
My name is Diane and I take care of my mother Lue Alice full-time. I was adopted by Lue at the age of three months by her and my late father. She had a stroke in April and stayed in a nursing home for 20 days for rehabilitative therapy. During that time, I decided to take care of her rather than let her remain in a facility because she wasn't receiving the care that she should've received. My hat goes off to anyone who cares for a loved one because it can be overwhelming at times. At the same time I get joy knowing that I'm able to return the favor to my mom because she took me in and took care of me when I wasn't able to care for myself. I love my mother dearly and am thankful for the Veterans Care Coordination for paying for sitters that can come in to care for her when I have to go places.
