George is my sister-in-law's husband. He is retired & is permanently disabled. George was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease at 56 years old. He lost his wife of 33 years to a massive heart attack just 2 years ago. She was 56, mother of 4 and Grandmother of 2.
After her death, George called me and asked me what it would take for me to come be his caretaker 4-5 hours a day. I said, "Not too much." You see, I studied counseling in college. I am a natural empath and am very compassionate.
George is progressing quickly. We have become companions! He has a great sense of humor and a fantastic attitude! We get out 2-3 times a week to shop, have lunch out, etc. George also belongs to a 100 member choir made up of all Parkinson's patients and he will sing in his very first concert on September of this year. He is the bright spot in my day!
