Latoya from California

My my mom Vickie went in to have open heart surgery. She had a Mitral Valve replacement. Once she was released from the hospital she needed someone to care for her. As her oldest daughter, I felt that was my duty. It was difficult for the both of us. My mom was very independent. We both had to adjust to me doing everything for her. I had to give her medication, feed her and bathe her. After the surgery she wasn't able to walk no more than 1 foot without getting out of breath. It was heartbreaking for my family seeing my mom this way. My mom died a month later due to complications from her surgery. This was the worst thing that ever happened to my family. This was years ago. However it feels like yesterday.
