Katharine from Arizona

My spouse of 37 years, Bonnie, is turning 79 in January 2019. She has early stage Alzheimer’s and has been participating in a Clinical Trial at Banner Alzheimer’s Institite for almost 3-years. She can stay home by herself and does laundry and light housekeeping, we cook together in the evenings. I get up at 5 am to get 3 hours of self care and quiet time.

The very best thing about her illness is that she forgot she was extremely reserved and shy. Now she loves socializing. She also forgot she is not an Artist and loved doing art work.

I spend 1-2 hours a day managing details of her life.
