Superina from Connecticut

My name is Superina and I am primary caregiver for my beautiful mother Louise. We are entering year 11 of care that has had many twists and turns. My mother had a stroke 11 years ago that left her with right side weakness, slurred speech, and issues with cognition. Being in charge of her care has been one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences I've ever faced. I'm truly thankful for a wonderfully supportive husband and my village that assists with whatever I ask. I had to learn to ask for help. That was not easy but so very necessary to keep my life in balance. The tasks can be overwhelming at times. I'm also very grateful that my mom dwells in a spirit of thankfulness. There is not a day that goes by that she doesn't thank me for things seen and unseen that are being done on her behalf. After all that she's done for me, I continue to pray that God keeps me healthy to care for her.
