Cindy from Nebraska
My name is Cindy and several years ago my mom, Margie, was diagnosed with Altzheimer’s. I was working part time at several jobs all located here in our little community where mom also lives. The demands of her care steadily grew to include me stopping there four times a day to administer medication, bring meals, turn lights on & off, provide medical care, etc. This all became too overwhelming and I sought care for her at our local nursing home. As a retired nurse, I was able to meet all her medical needs. What I couldn’t keep up with was, and is, all of the correspondence. Cards to all the kids/grandkids for all life events in our large family became a full time job! Even with her diagnosis, she remembers birthdays, anniversaries, etc. It’s a lot of work to keep up with them all but it’s important to her!
