God works through us through mysterious ways and puts us in the places we need to be. In 2008, I was closing up my business and my life changed. My mother and father’s house burned down at that time and my mother died from the incident. I brought my father to live with us and cared for his finances, doctors’ appointments, lab work and living assistance. I was also, and still am, a caregiver for my daughter. When she was 35, she had a stress episode, and has been in and out of the hospital and psychiatrists offices since then. She is now 42. Being a caregiver is hard, and I don’t think I noticed the toll it took on me until my father passed away. I’m glad I had the opportunity to be a caregiver though because it matured me and made me realize and appreciate life.
