Shantel from Florida
This story is about my grandmother, Dorothy Williams from Bradenton, Florida. She has been caring for my grandfather, Otis Williams for over 3 years now. My grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and had regressed with time. My grandmother cares for him around the clock with heart problems that she has herself. She walks him to and from the bed each day. She still cooks his meals 3 times a day. She has even stopped leaving the house because she doesn't like to leave him in the care of anyone else.
My grandmother has some acute heart issues and will never complain of her problems. Our family found out that she has an aching and numbness in her feet because she has arteries clogged to her legs. She has opted not to get the surgery that would correct this problem because she refuses to not be able to care for her husband.
Oftentimes, my family is afraid that she will succumb to her issues because of the physical and mental strain it takes to care for my grandfather but she will have it no other way.
This is by far, the most loving dedication I've seen from some one. There is so much more that I can share in regard to the instances of how my grandmother cares for my grandfather, there just isn't enough time.
