I am a long distance caregiver for my mother El. My siblings take care of things for which they need to be close by (driving to doctor appointments, etc.) but thanks to technology I've been able to help by helping with bill payment, online grocery ordering, and setting up appointments. A challenge has been help during the day getting to appointments since my siblings all work. I've also appreciated neighborhood social media networks which help give recommendations for plumbers, lawn care services, etc. A challenge for my mother is that she can feel isolated now that she is not getting out into the neighborhood herself as much any longer.
