My story is different. I am a caregiver but I am writing for my client and her blind daughter. My client, who is 83, has been caring for her daughter (Michelle for) 30 years now and vise versa. I have never seen such family love and comitment these two have for each other. Every night my client (Paola) prepares her daughter's evening meal. Then her daughter goes home. Her daughter cares for her mom with whatever illness she suffers. Michelle still struggles with her eyes has 4 siblings but feels only she can care for her mom after what her mom has done for her for 30 years since her tragic bicycle accident in her 20's with a promising future ahead of her. Michelle wrote a single book "Still Wearing My Heels" and hopes to one day write a book about her devoted mom. The pictures are from Paolas recent May Birthday. I drive them wherever they need to go. On her Birthday Michelle wanted to arrange a birthday dinner for her mom. Me and my husband escorted Michelle her blind friend (Matt) and Paola that night into Olive Garden then back at Paola's house for cake. These two strong women live for each other. Not only do they care for each other, but for others. Always help and give when they can, from a craft, a baked good, to a baby being born, just recently my wedding, another caregiver's 50th Anniversary. New neighbors housewarming, people in their grocery store, bank, for s new baby. If it were not for Paola, Michelle would not be here today. Poalo spent months in the hospital making sure Michele got the care she needed all while helping others too in the hospital. Paola lived in the hospital for her Mimi. Me, I see this 3 times a week. Mimi calls her mom every day at 11. Even though they live on the same block they always are in contact. Paola even when her health is bad grocery shops for Michelle. Michelle is in Drs offices most days of the week. Paola is her cheerleader and Michelle is her moms coach. It keeps Paola going and is her reason to live. And it keeps Michelle going, taking care of her mom. It is a pleasure working for Paola, I am blessed to know them both. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
