Nancy from Pennsylvania
I am a former caregiver who now receives care. I want to share a story of a person I think deserves recognition. Her name is Nina. She is my caregiver. Nina works for a local agency and has several clients that she sees regularly. Nina is a single mother of three, is working toward a degree through the GI bill. She served in the Coast Guard but chose to work in active duty with the Navy. She served overseas. Nina developed a brain tumor and had surgery but has recovered beautifully. Nina is an active person, constantly doing things with her children. She's a talented artist and teaches this skill to her children. Nina is kind, compassionate, hard working and deserves so much more than she receives. But Nina would never say that because she is humble. So while many out there are deserving caregivers, I just wanted to give kudos to my favorite one.
