Cecile from Massachusetts

I am a caregiver along with my five sisters and three brothers to our 93 year old mother who has dementia. She still lives in the house we all grew up in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Someone needs to be with her 24/7 as to make sure she eats, takes her medications, showers, goes to appointments and all the normal daily tasks. We keep a large calendar at the house and every month fill in the days and nights we can stay with her. Somehow we make it work along with the support of our spouses and children. We all do our part in caring for her and enjoying her. My mom is beautiful, loving, has a wonderful sense of humor and is so appreciative of us. There was no thought of putting her in a nursing home. I am so blessed to have my mother for this long and so blessed to have a loving and caring family.
