My grandmother Annie is 82 years old now. She is a strong, stubborn chinese lady who took care of herself and her kids by herself. I started to take care of her just last year when my mom passed away suddenly. My grandma Annie's other kids are out of the country and could not come here to help out taking care of her. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's so it is really hard just to remind her everyday on who we are and where she is. Just giving her medications is a struggle, she doesnt believe that she is sick, she thinks she is a healthy 20 year old lady. What's harder is that when she looks for my mom we remind her she is gone she would cry hysterically, we stopped telling her she is gone but tell her, her daughter is at work or somewhere else. It breaks my heart to see her like this. I am new to this caregiving but I love that I am giving care to my grandma Annie.
