Tony from Texas

The story I suspect is not an uncommon one. Parents in their eighties and with failing health. They are over 2000 miles away and will not leave their dangerous home (multiple stairs) to relocate to where I or my brother are. We have found a caregiver service locally for them but they do not take full advantage of the services that the firm offers. They should not drive any longer due to shoulder, hip and arm and hip breakage (Dad and Mom respectively).

We are attempting to find a living arrangement that would ensure their comfort and safety, but they continue to resist firmly.

Long distance is difficult but their resistance is just about breaking my brother and my spirit.
We will continue...

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
