RoseMarie from Texas

When our daughter was born we were informed that she had Down Syndrome, we were told that raising her was going to be interesting. Well throughout her lifetime she was very smart, in her own way and we too learned a lot too. But now at age 25, we have been informed that she had developed Danny Walker Syndrome and everything that we had shown her live independently has been somewhat lost and she now needs more help then before.

I have become a more involved advocate for special needs adults to help their families become informed about what programs are out there to help them, and for families that have small special needs children to place them in special program lists, so that when they become adults, those programs that they were placed in while growing up will be there for them and there families to help them travel on their long journey. This picture was taken by me of her father and our daughter.
